Taylor Momsen Apologizes For Her ‘Blame My Parents’ Tirade: ‘I Love My Mom & Dad’
“Gossip Girl” actress Taylor Momsen is apologizing for a headline-grabbing comment she made in November, in which the 17-year-old blamed her parents for her sulky persona.
”[After reading the article, they felt] horrible!” Taylor said in a recent interview with Kerrang magazine. “I love my mom and dad. Maybe I didn’t have the childhood people think you should have, but I still went through the ages. I was still a child.
“Maybe it wasn’t a conventional one, but you know,” Taylor continued. “I like where I am now, so it’s OK. I think my parents have learned by this point that none of [what they read] is probably true, and words can be put in your mouth.”
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Taylor spoke out against her parents in November.
“Everyone’s like, ‘Wow, why is she upset and why is she so miserable about things?’” Taylor reportedly told WENN in November. “My parents signed me up with Ford [modeling agency] at the age of 2.
“No 2-year-old wants to be working, but I had no choice,” she reportedly added.
The eye-liner-loving small “Gossip Girl” actress fronts a rock band (The Pretty Reckless), and is the face of Madonna and daughter Lourdes’ new fashion line, Material Girl. Still, she is seemingly unhappy with her life and career in entertainment.
“My whole life, I was in and out of school,” she reportedly told WENN at the time. “I didn’t have friends – I was working constantly and I didn’t have a real life.”
