David Giuntoli On ‘Grimm’ Season 5 & Being Confused With Brandon Routh

Listen up, Grimmsters – big changes are coming for “Grimm” Season 5.

Access Hollywood spoke with the man himself, David Giuntoli, at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend, where he told us to buckle up.

“It’s gonna be a wild season! I’ve seen three of the scripts,” the actor, who plays Nick Burkhardt on the show, told Access.

In addition to the death of Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch, and yes, she is really dead), David said the show will be heading in a new direction come October.

“There’s a reboot this year! A little bit of a reboot, get ready for THAT, America!” he laughed. “Wrap your head around the reboot.”

From the sound of it, “Grimm” will be moving away from a previous major subplot in order to focus on Nick and the aftermath of the bloody Season 4.

“We’re kind of getting rid of the royals a little bit,” David explained of the coming changes. “I have to raise a kid with my past arch nemesis, Adalind, which just, uhh, fine.

“I think Nick’s out for revenge and he’s trying to figure out who wronged him,” he continued. “His mother’s head was chopped off, his girlfriend was killed. Bad things.”

David made the most of his fifth Comic-Con experience, and even managed to run into his doppelganger of sorts, “Arrow” actor (and former Superman) Brandon Routh.

“Me and Brandon Routh always get confused with one another, so we took a photo today to prove otherwise,” he told Access, when asked if he’d run into any of his friends at SDCC. “He’s a nice fella. He’s a bit [taller].

“If we were like, a Russian nesting doll, I’d be the one inside of him,” he joked. “We’re that similar.”

Brandon Tweeted the photo of the duo together, captioned, “People think @mistergiuntoli is me, & I am him! Proof we’re not the same person! …also… our hair-part is opposite.”

“Grimm” season premiere October 30 at 9/8c on NBC.
