Katherine Heigl On Why She Was Talking To Cops In A Bikini

“Life As We Know It’s” Katherine Heigl has set the record straight about why she was caught by the paparazzi talking to the police in her bikini earlier this week.

The actress revealed to Ryan Seacrest for his “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” radio program on Thursday, that it was at her urging that the cops came out to her Los Angeles area home to deal with a neighbor who took offense to her evening hot tub time with husband Josh Kelley.

“The other night, my husband and I were chillin’ in the hot tub, it was just the two of us, we had just put the baby down, it was like 8:30-9 at night and… [our neighbor] starts screaming at us to go inside and I’m like, ‘I’ve had it, I’ve had enough of this. This is ridiculous; it’s harassment and I’m calling the police,’” Katherine recounted to Ryan.

Katherine, who did not name the neighbor, said the incident wasn’t the first time he yelled at the couple and added that they weren’t doing anything that should have upset anyone.

“We were totally just hanging out, making out in the hot tub – and by the way, it was so PG,” she said. “We’re not idiots. We’re not going to be out there doing anything scandalous.”

Katherine said the couple was talking “quietly” and listening to Josh’s upcoming album (at a volume which, she noted, they could barely even hear the music), when the neighbor started shouting, so they called her own security team, who called the cops for the couple.

“They called the police and they went and talked to him and came over to talk to us to say, ‘Look, we went and talked to him,’” she said. “At that point, we were a couple cocktails in.”

As for those shots of the blonde beauty in her two-piece, she found the paparazzi snaps and video thoroughly amusing.

“I just think the thing that is the most hilarious is that video footage of Josh and I in our bathing suits talking to the cops,” she laughed. “I just thought… ‘We are like the most boring couple in Hollywood and that’s the most scandalous thing we’ve ever done.’”
