K-Fed’s Lawyer To Britney: ‘It’s Not Fourth Grade’

Britney Spears’ new music video,
“Piece of Me,” premiered on Thursday. The debut capped off a week that found an
anxiety-filled Britney skipping a legal deposition. So how is Britney feeling
now?

“How’s your anxiety?” a paparazzo asked Britney yesterday.

“It’s better, thank you,” she said.

When asked if she went to the hospital for her anxiety, Britney shook her
head.

Just two days ago, Britney missed a deposition over her child custody case
with Kevin Federline, reportedly from paparazzi-induced anxiety.

“I would imagine she’s been having to deal with paparazzi most of her life,”
Kevin Federline’s attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, told Access Hollywood.
“It would be very coincidental that the anxiety level for that happened to
coincide on the date I was to cross-examine her.”

Meanwhile, Kaplan told People the case will continue despite the
set back, but Britney might not be getting off without a hitch.

“I’m not mad – I can move forward with her or without her,” he said
Wednesday. “But there will be a request to the court to address some kind of
remedy to what I see as a willful non-appearance.”

The lawyer said Spears may have to legally prove she was unable to attend the
hearing, especially since she was spotted out on the same evening she was due to
give a deposition in Kaplan’s offices.

“She was in fact out later that day and night,” he said. “It’s not fourth
grade where you get a doctor’s note and it’s all OK. She was ordered to attend.
And if there’s a legitimate reason for her not to attend she would have to
establish that.”
