Access Hollywood Heads To China

LOS ANGELES (February 13, 2007) ? Access Hollywood has branched into the East.

A Mandarin-language version of our show has been licensed for the People?s Republic of China. Unlike the US version, the one hour long Access Hollywood China show will focus mainly on stars from that region of the world. It will also include some content from the US.

Produced in China?s capitol city of Beijing by Small World Television, Access screens on NMTV, a channel with the potential to reach 300 million viewers.

“The fact that ‘Access Hollywood’ is being produced in Beijing with a Chinese host and the majority of the content is shot in China, is a testament to how well this format adapts culturally,” Leslie Jones, NBC Universal Vice President, International sales and Format Production said in a statement. “It is truly exciting to be working with foreign partners who have a unique understanding and knowledge of their marketplace and we look forward to great success for many years to come.”

Additionally, Access recently branched out to Ireland, late last year on Channel 6.

“We are constantly impressed by the unmatched quality and resources of ‘Access Hollywood,’” Michael Murphy, Founder and Director of Programs for Channel 6 recently said. ?The show is a perfect fit for the Channel 6 audience in Ireland, satisfying their thirst for entertainment news and celebrity culture.?
