Access Scoop: Rosie’s Plans For ‘The View’

BURBANK, Calif. (July 28, 2006) ? Cookies ?n juice with Rosie? Yum!

Bill Geddie, executive producer of “The View” reveals plans for the show’s new season to Access Hollywood, including Rosie O’Donnell’s requests and plans for securing a new co-host.

Thursday in New York, Geddie told Access Hollywood, “It’s going to be fun when Rosie gets here. It’s going to feel like ‘The View;’ it’s the same show we just kicked it up a notch.”

When asked about any changes to the set for the new season, Geddie said, “Rosie has particular things that she likes about sets. So we are going to change some things about the audience?the rake (slope) of the audience will be higher? So you’re going to see some changes with the set and the audience and hopefully those changes aren’t too much because it still is ‘The View.’” Geddie added, “Rosie hasn’t demanded anything, except cookies and juice for the audience, which we never gave out before. So now we will have a sugar-high audience, which we never had before.”

And does Rosie have a new Tommy?

You bet. He’s Julian McMahon of “Nip-Tuck.” Rosie’s old Tommy was Tom Cruise.

But in her online blog, Rosie mentions that Julian is her new crush.

She also writes in her blog that “George Michael needs to stay out of parks.”

A British tabloid claims it caught the pop star having some hanky panky with another guy in a park.

Rosie jokes that someone should “Lojack his a@#.”

So maybe George won’t be the gals new co-host on “The View.”

In regards to those plans, Geddie told Access, “Let’s let Rosie get comfortable, figure out what she is doing first. Then, I think you’re going to see, come October, some people start to sit at the table. Whether they are really auditioning or just coming as friends we’ll let you decide.”

Geddie also confirmed that Jessica Simpson would be the show’s first guest in the new season saying, “It appears that Jessica (Simpson) has agreed to be our first guest for the first day that Rosie’s on ‘The View,’ which is very exciting for us.”

When asked if he has spoken to Star Jones Reynolds since her departure from the show, Geddie said, “I have not spoken with Star. I certainly wish Star well. I hope she lands a great job and I hope that she’s happy. If she’s happy that would mean a lot to us.”
