‘Supergirl’: Series To Introduce Non, Red Tornado, General Lane

Melissa Benoist stars as “Supergirl” this fall on CBS, and there’s a famed “Superman” franchise villain coming her way – Non.

Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg announced the news at the show’s Television Critics Association Summer Tour on Monday morning, as he listed off a slate of characters set to make appearances on the new drama.

“We’re also going to be introducing a bunch of characters from the DC Comics world in the first nine episodes,” Kreisberg told reporters.

“We’re having Lucy Lane,” he continued, referring to the character that is being played by Jenna Dewan Tatum. “But we’re also going to be having her father, General Sam Lane, [who] will be coming to town with an agenda. We’re also going to have the Red Tornado who’s another DC Comics iconic character, and then, we’re also going to be introducing Non, a Kryptonian villain.”

The producer said the show’s version will have “a slightly different take on the character” from the one in “Superman II.”

“Supergirl” premieres October 26 at 8:30 PM ET/PT on CBS.
