Beck ‘Disappointed’ Kanye West Didn’t Commit To Stage Crash
Beck was totally cool having Kanye West interrupt his acceptance speech when he won Album of the Year Award at the Grammys on Sunday.
“I was excited,” the singer told Access Hollywood’s Liz Hernandez after the Grammys about seeing the rapper approach the stage. “I was disappointed that he walked away!”
Kanye got out of his seat and hit the stage, before turning around and smiling. The moment looked to many in the audience like Kanye was mocking his own 2009 stage crash of Taylor Swift when she beat out Beyonce (whom Beck beat at the Grammys in the Album of the Year category) at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.

“It was a tease. I said, ‘Come on, I want a Kanye moment here,'” Beck continued.
Adding, “I wish he stayed.”

Though at first Kanye appeared to be joking with his stage rush, on E’s Grammys post-show, Kanye shared his thoughts on the Grammys moment, and his comments made it seem like his move earlier in the night wasn’t for laughs.

“I just know that the Grammys, if they want real artists to keep coming back, they need to stop playing with us. We ain’t gonna play with them no more,” the rapper said. “And Beck needs to respect artistry and he should have given his award to Beyonce,” Kanye said.
Adding, “Because when you keep on diminishing art and not respecting the craft and smacking people in their face after they deliver monumental feats of music, you’re disrespectful to inspiration.”
