‘Idol’ Auditions Wrap Up With The Best & Worst
Last night’s “American Idol” auditions were a wrap-up of all the auditions the show could not fit into previous episodes.
One technique that worked, at least for Gina Glocksen of Naperville, Illinois, was admitting a crush on Simon Cowell. She was put through to Hollywood. In fact, singers showed up with airbrushed Simon Cowell shirts, cardboard cut-outs and “I love Simon” underpants.
A lot of singers had crushes on Paula Abdul, but one who sang “Donna” to Abdul couldn’t turn that into a golden ticket. Paul Kim of Saratoga, California, says he auditioned to prove not all Asian singers are like William Hung, and the judges liked him.
The judges were not as kind to the guy who was inspired by Bo Bice’s a cappella performance, only he didn’t have Bice’s pipes. They also saw a group of roller-skating waitresses — but only two of the three made it to Hollywood.
