Melissa Rivers Joins ‘Fashion Police’ Panel As Co-Host

Like mother, like daughter. Melissa Rivers will take after her late mom Joan Rivers and become part of the “Fashion Police” lineup as a co-host.

The television personality will officially join returning hosts Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski when the show premieres its new season on August 31, E! announced on Wednesday. In addition to her new position on camera, Rivers will also continue her behind the scenes work as an executive producer.

“Melissa helped shape ‘Fashion Police’ into an iconic TV series that couples fashion with comedy,” Jeff Olde, E!’s Executive VP of Programming and Development, said in a statement. “We are pleased to now also feature Melissa in front of the ‘Fashion Police’ cameras, as she joins returning panelists Giuliana and Brad. And with the added flavor of rotating panelists, the show will deliver fresh, different and unpredictable fashion reviews with each new episode.”

The two “rotating panelists” will include actors, stylists and comedians, the network said.

Rivers’ new “Fashion Police” role will help fill the void left by Kelly Osbourne and Kathy Griffin. Osbourne left the show in February to pursue other interests, according to a statement from E! at the time. Her departure came not long after controversial remarks from Rancic regarding Disney star Zendaya’s Oscars hairstyle. Griffin exited in March after just seven episodes, citing creative differences.

Despite the show’s recent bumps, Rivers herself expressed enthusiasm for her new venture.

“I’m very excited to be given the opportunity to continue to work with my E! and ‘Fashion Police’ family,” she said in a statement.
