Brad & Angelina’s Whirlwind Weekend In New York
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie created a whirlwind in New York this weekend, and not just because they were riding in a helicopter!
The superstar couple took their kids — Maddox, Pax and Zahara — out for some good old-fashioned fun in Manhattan on Friday, complete with a carousel ride in central park, and a trip to one of NYC’s famous hot dog carts in Times Square.
It was hot dogs for all, as Brad ordered five of them — three with ketchup and mustard, and two with just ketchup, according to The Associated Press.
“I didn’t know who he was,” said vendor Mahmoud Omer, who added that Pitt wanted relish but he didn’t have any.
It seems the NYC outing was for “big kids” only, as 15-month-old baby Shiloh was not seen among them.
The clan also were seen shopping at Lee’s Art Shop in midtown — perhaps stocking up on crafty projects to occupy the kids while mom and dad helicoptered to the Hamptons on Saturday!
Brad and Angelina reportedly left the kids with nannies before being whisked away to the Hamptons to host a dinner benefiting the rebuilding of New Orleans.
The fundraiser was held at the home of Tribeca Film Festival co-founders Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff in the Southampton town of Watermill, N.Y.
Christie Brinkley, Ellen Barkin and Jimmy Buffett were among the stars in attendance at the benefit, thrown to promote Pitt’s Make It Right project.
The 50+ guests enjoyed cocktails and a buffet of lamb, salmon and corn pudding, People reports. The festivities took place under a giant tent decorated with black-and-white photos of everyday life in New Orleans.
Pitt himself reportedly gave a speech on helping those affected by Hurricane Katrina, which his project is aiming to do with the building of environmentally-friendly homes in New Orleans’ Lower Ninth Ward.
Last week, Pitt took a tour of the construction site for one of the project’s homes, built in conjunction with Global Green USA.
