Carrie Underwood On Eating Right & Doing ‘Human’ Things
Carrie Underwood may spend much of her life on tour, but you won’t catch her grabbing any quickie fast food.
“It would be very easy to just go eat that all the time. But if I don’t know what’s in it, I don’t eat it. That’s my rule,” the singer told the latest issue of health magazine WebMD.
The former “American Idol” winner and country superstar revealed when she’s on tour, she works hard to eat right, stopping into grocery stores to pick up her cuisine.
“It’s a very human thing to do, and that’s why I love it so much,” she told the mag. “When you’re out on the road, people see you as a performer — not necessarily as a human being, first and foremost. So it’s really nice to go and do things that … people do!”
The singer’s penchant for doing normal things often surprises her fans.
“I always hear, ‘You shop yourself?’ I would hate to see the day when someone else had to buy my groceries for me,” she noted.
To stay in shape, Carrie revealed she makes sure to get in regular exercise.
“If I can wake up and I go get a good cardio session in,” she revealed, “a class at a gym nearby, or me on the treadmill, I’m happier throughout the day.”
In related Carrie news, the singer is back on tour after spending her honeymoon in Tahiti with new husband Mike Fisher, a Canadian hockey star, whom she married earlier this month.
