‘The Wiz Live’: Open Casting Call For Dorothy

“The Wiz Live!” is the next show in NBC’s musical television event, but not every role is taken!

NBC is hosting an open casting call for the role of Dorothy.

Auditions will take place Saturday, June 6 from 10 AM – 2 PM ET at Telsey + Co., 311 W. 43rd St., 10th Floor in Midtown Manhattan. Sign in begins at 9 AM ET.

Potential Dorothys should be ready to sing “The Wiz’s” “Ease on Down the Road,” “Home,” and “Be a Lion.”

Casting directors are looking for an African-American woman between 18-27 to play Dorothy. They are looking for someone with “an extraordinary voice that can tell a story, as well as be mature with youthful energy.”
