Former Real World Star Joey Kovar’s Autopsy ‘Inconclusive’ (Report)
An autopsy conducted on former “Real World: Hollywood” star Joey Kovar on Saturday was “inconclusive,” according to TMZ.
The official cause of death for the aspiring actor — who was found dead at the age of 29 at the home of a female friend in Chicago on Friday — is reportedly being deferred, pending toxicology test results.
Kovar was discovered by his friend, who called 911 early Friday morning after she noticed blood coming from Kovar’s ears and nose, his rep told TMZ. Authorities reportedly pronounced him dead at the scene.
The reality personality had a lengthy history of drug abuse. His 2008 appearance on MTV’s “Real World: Hollywood” was cut short when he entered rehab for alcohol and drugs halfway through the season.
“It’s so hard to admit that I’ve got a problem, man,” a sobbing Kovar told his “Real World” housemates at the time, as he revealed he would be leaving for a 30-day rehab program. “It’s so hard. I’ve been dealing it for like, a couple years now. Like, last year at this same time I remember laying on the floor and just did like, so much cocaine, did so much alcohol, and looking at the sky and just being like, ‘Yeah, I’m ready to die.’”
He later appeared on “Celebrity Rehab” Season 3 in 2010, hoping to put his struggles with substance addiction behind him.
