Fur Coat Fallout: Club Owner Offers To Buy Lindsay Lohan New Mink
In the wake of Linday Lohan’s fur coat faux pas, a New York nightclub is coming to LiLo’s aid, offering the starlet her own mink.
John Englebert, owner of Prime nightclub and Suzie Wong Saki Lounge, has offered to buy Lindsay a new $11,000 blond mink coat, as well as settle the lawsuit against her, after she walked out of New York hot spot 1 Oak with another woman’s coat earlier this month.
“Lindsay has always been a fixture and a party girl in his establishments and [John] does not want her to catch a cold in this frigid start to the summer,” a spokesperson for Engelbert said in a statement to Access Hollywood.
Masha Markova, 22, filed a lawsuit against Lindsay this week, claiming Lindsay took her golden sheared mink coat, while attending a birthday party at 1 Oak on January 26. According to Markova, she didn’t realize Lindsay was the one who took the coat until paparazzi photos surfaced two weeks later.
“I was actually talking on the phone to my grandmother about something else, and then I flipped through [OK! magazine], saw the picture said, ‘I need to call you back,’ “Markova previously told the NY Post. “It was my coat. It was no doubt!”
In her lawsuit, Markova is seeking unspecified damages.
But as far as Englebert is concerned, Lindsay deserves to be pampered in the wake of the mink mix up.
“I am offering to take Lindsay on a mink shopping spree with me, to have the coat of her choice,” he said in a statement to Access. “My motto has always been, ‘If the coat fits, buy it.’”
