Hollywood Reacts To Sony’s Cancelation Of ‘The Interview’
On the heels of Sony Pictures announcing the cancelation of the Christmas Day theatrical release of ‘The Interview,” stars took to Twitter to react.
Here is what Hollywood had to say:
“Wow. Everyone caved. The hackers won. An utter and complete victory for them. Wow,” Rob Lowe said on Twitter.

“Sony should release “the Interview” online for free so North Koreans can’t censor American creativity–should have Korean language version. No one should kid themselves. With the Sony collapse America has lost its first cyberwar. This is a very very dangerous precedent,” Newt Gingrich Tweeted. “.@RobLowe it wasn’t the hackers who won, it was the terrorists and almost certainly the North Korean dictatorship, this was an act of war.”
“Dear Sony Hackers: now that u run Hollywood, I’d also like less romantic comedies, fewer Michael Bay movies and no more Transformers,” Michael Moore commented on Twitter. “Also, Sony Hackers – I really liked Tyler Perry in “Gone Girl” so hold off on doing anything yet with Madea. Oh, hackers, one more thing – I lost like $180K on “Canadian Bacon”. Can u do the opposite of what u just did & get it back IN to theaters?”

“Cyber-terrorists win. Wow. #sony. As Sony caves to cyber-terrorism & cancels The Interview, my column on why America needs to stand up to the bullies. dailym.ai/1x00M3l,” Piers Morgan wrote in a series of Tweets. “How can anyone make a controversial movie again if cyber-bullies or foreign dictators decide they don’t like it? It’s a comedy about the world’s worst dictator. Yet Hollywood’s caved to a bit of bullying? Incredible. #sony. What 1st Amendment? #sony.”
