‘Nashville Star’ Holds First National Audition Date In Los Angeles

“Nashville Star” returns for its sixth season on NBC with new host Billy Ray Cyrus and tours the nation to find the next great country singers — individuals, duos and trios, ages 16 and older.

“This year it is all about the dream, about the music, about persistence and never giving up faith. Putting the music first,” said Billy Ray Cyrus on “The Tonight Show” where he announced his new gig.

Los Angeles is home to the first national casting call for Nashville Star. Subsequent national calls will be held in Washington D.C., Austin, TX and will end in Nashville, TN on March 21.

Saturday, March 8 (10 am – 6 pm)

Marriott Hotel & Convention Center
2500 Hollywood Way
Burbank, CA 91505

How it works:
1. Those auditioning will perform a song off an approved song list.

2. A select few of the most talented will be asked to perform additional material for the producers. Applicants should be prepared to sing (2) cover songs from the approved list or (1) song from the list and (1) original song.

3. The top contestants then proceed to call backs the next day to again audition for a chance to appear on the show.

The auditions are open to women and men, ages 16 and over who think they have what it takes to become the next “Nashville Star”. Updated information on auditions including cities, locations and times, song lists, applications, as well as how to audition if you can’t make it to an open call, can be found on www.nashvillestarcasting.com

As in the past, the winner of this season’s “Nashville Star” will receive a major-label music recording contract and a chance to appear on the world’s stage at the 2008 Beijing Olympics!
