Mel Gibson’s Alleged Scuffle With Photographer, Police Report Filed

Mel Gibson and pregnant fiancee Oksana Grigorieva’s night took a wrong turn Thursday when the actor allegedly got into a scuffle with an aggressive photographer.

“On Thursday, July 30th about 1:20 this morning a victim came into the Hollywood Division claiming that he had been pushed by actor Mel Gibson when he attempted to take his picture inside the Playhouse Nightclub at 6506 Hollywood Blvd.,” a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department said in a statement to Access Hollywood.

Hollyscoop.com posted a photo of the man who filed the report wearing a ripped shirt, but police told Access he was not injured.

“He stated he was not injured. In an initial investigation detectives did interview witnesses at the nightclub who disputed the victims account,” the LAPD statement continued. “The investigation is ongoing.”

The owner of Playhouse Hollywood, Rob Vinokur, also issued a statement about Thursday’s incident.

“Last night Mel Gibson and his girlfriend attended the Grand Opening of Playhouse Hollywood, Vinokur said in a statement released to Access. “A minor incidence occurred between a persistent photographer and Mr. Gibson’s party, no one was injured and all parties are cooperating fully with local police officials to resolve the matter.”

According to TMZ, police sources say they feel the photographer is falsely accusing Gibson and no criminal charges will be filed against the actor. The LAPD reportedly do not expect to interview Gibson in the matter and say at most the incident could result in a civil matter.
