Source: Lindsay Lohan Checks Into Sober-Living House
With her Tuesday jail date rapidly approaching, Lindsay Lohan has checked into the Pickford Lofts, a sober-living house in Los Angeles, a source close to Lindsay confirmed to Access Hollywood.
The star made her arrival at the facility on Tuesday night, according to the source. People reported that ex Samantha Ronson, who has spoken out for the star recently on Twitter, visited Lindsay at the facility on Wednesday night.
The Pickford Lofts were founded by attorney Robert Shapiro, who became involved with rehab facilities following the tragic death of his son, Brent, due to a 2005 drug overdose.
TMZ reported on Wednesday that Shapiro, who served as part of O.J. Simpson’s defense during the infamous 1990s murder trial, has joined Lindsay’s legal team.
“It’s definitely a step in the right direction. I’m glad that Robert Shapiro is on the case,” Lindsay’s father, Michael Lohan, said in a statement to Access. “After reading about Pickford House, I’m happy to see that part of their protocol is to mend fences within families. But I don’t understand why it took so long to get to this point. I wish Dina and Lindsay had listened to me sooner. I still contend that if this program, or any other one, is to work for Lindsay, she must get off prescription drugs once and for all.”
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, court documents revealed that Lindsay has been taking a number of prescription medications, including Zoloft, Trazodone, Adderall, Nexium and occasionally the painkiller Dilaudid.
The actress was sentenced to a 90-day jail sentence by Judge Marsha Revel after violating her probation, which she’s required to report for on Tuesday.
Lindsay is still wearing her court-assigned SCRAM bracelet, which triggers alerts from alcohol intake.
