Willow Shields’ ‘DWTS’ Blog: Tonight Is The Big Night! 

“Hunger Games” star Willow Shields joins AccessHollywood.com as our behind-the-scenes celebrity blogger for Season 20 of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars.”

Here is Willow’s second post ahead of her big debut…

It’s been a busy week training with Mark. We’ve already come a long way since we started practicing. We were assigned the Cha-Cha, and have an awesome song, “Lips are Moving,” by Meghan Trainor, so happy for this! It’s really a fun dance to learn and the more Mark and I practice, the less nervous I am. Costuming made a custom dress for me and I got to help with the design and colors, yeah I love this kinda stuff!

I’ve already gotten to know Mark a lot since we are in the dance studio together for hours every day. He’s an incredible dancer… scratch that, he’s one of the best dancers on this planet! But besides that he makes the experience fun. Also, he is so focused on choreography and every detail I can’t believe it.

He doesn’t miss a thing.

Mark never yells at me when I’m messing up, but he does give me this look that I now know very well! The “look” says, “Willow your not getting it, should we try this again!?” I nod without saying anything and we try it again. I guess we are communicating through ESP. I think Mark could bend a spoon with that look, I’m gonna bring a spoon to the dance studio to see if he can make it bend with that look! I’ll post to Instagram if it works.

There are some things I’m struggling with that I hope I can get over before the first show:

  1. Whenever Mark dips me, I start giggling. Then I make Mark laugh. I don’t think the judges will appreciate this!
  2. To add grip to my dancing shoes, I’m supposed to spit on the dance floor and rub my heels into it. Yeah, did you know dancers do this? I’m not very good at this. Also, from now on watch where your walking on a ballroom dance floor!
  3. I’m a little behind in my math studies, my parents are going to kill me! And Mark can’t save the day, remember guys, Mark may have won a couple of mirrorballs, but there’s no math champion trophy proudly displayed in his house!

Tonight is the big night and I’m more excited now then nervous. But my parents, that’s another story. My dad says he wants to be hooked up to a defibrillator in case I fall and my mom said she may need to bum a valium off someone, I’m like, “Don’t you need a prescription for that?”
