Pre-Superman Series ‘Krypton’ Being Developed For Syfy

David S. Goyer, the screenwriter behind “Man of Steel,” and Ian Goldberg are heading back in DC Comics Universe time with a pre-Superman series being developed for Syfy — “Krypton.”

Set long before Clark Kent was filing copy at the Daily Planet, Krypton will follow the story of Superman’s grandfather, who “brings hope and equality to Krypton” and works on “turning a planet in disarray into one worthy of” being the birthplace of Superman, according to a description from the cable network.

Goyer and Goldberg serve as executive producers on the show, which is being developed with Syfy and Warner Horizon Television.

Goldberg is writing the teleplay based on a story he and Goyer came up with.
