Diem Brown Honored On 35th Birthday By Friends, Fans & Co-Stars

Diem Brown’s legacy continues to live on.

The MTV alum lost a lengthy battle with ovarian cancer last November, but her memory is kept alive as fans, friends and co-stars took to Twitter on Friday to commemorate the reality star and philanthropist on what would have been her 35th birthday.

Today is @diembrown birthday and this is how I will remember her…taking every ounce of life to the extreme. Whether it’s a costume party, a dance party or no party, Diem celebrated with every breath. I miss my friend. But today is a day for smiles, hair whips and splits. I know she is in heaven, watching over us, bringing her spirit to us when we need it most, and just making sure we are doing ok. Well Diem, we are ok, but dammit life was just a lot more fun with you here. Your legacy lives on thru #medgift and the millions of moments you have blessed us with. For everyone with a dented heart, please find peace and love today on Diem’s birthday. Share your pictures and stories. Hug your people extra tight. And light a candle, sing happy birthday and make a wish for our dancing angel. Forever loved, always remembered #diemstrong

Brown revealed her first cancer bout in 2006 during production on the 12th season of “The Real World/Road Rules Challenge,” and fought the disease again in 2012 before entering remission the following year. Despite her bleak prognosis after cancer cells spread to her colon and stomach in 2014, Brown’s signature spirit never faltered.

“I NEED PRAyErs and advice my doctors are seemingly giving up but I won’t & can’t rollover,” she wrote on Twitter just three days before her passing. “Whatever option I have to LIVE I’m grabbing! … Need prayers, advice, support & outreach. No is not an option.”

The determination she displayed during her seven “Challenge” seasons was reflected in her off-camera efforts as well. Brown founded the website MedGift, a charity and gift registry platform designed to help ailing patients receive help from their loved ones as efficiently as possible.

Prior to her death, Brown’s MedGift page raised $72,000.
