Dish of Salt: Monday TV Round Up (Adam Lambert Addresses His Fans )
Adam Addresses His Fans
It’s a brand new week and we’re on to a brand new scandal (thanks, Tiger Woods!). That means the heat is off “American Idol” runner-up Adam Lambert after his controversial AMAs performance followed by his being dumped by ABC’s “Good Morning America” and picked up by CBS’ “The Early Show.” This morning though Lambert took to his Twitter account to let fans know he’s looking to make a change.
“AMA performance was a one time event. Goin in a new direction now. Focus back on the music,” he Tweeted about appearing on tomorrow’s “Ellen.” After receiving what I’m sure were hundreds of replies he then Tweeted, “Don’t worry friends: I’m still gonna be me. Always. W/o appologies. Just gonna experiment differently w how I present myself.”
Personally, I think Adam should continue his path of being who he wants to be and not what record company executives or fans are telling him to be. Be yourself!
Strange Reality
“Intervention,” the 2009 Emmy Award winner for Best Reality Show (non-competitive), returns tonight for season eight. Tonight’s episode focuses on Linda who found success working as an extra in Hollywood. After developing Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, a rare disorder characterized by joint dislocations, Linda started taking fentanyl, a painkiller 100 times stronger than morphine. As her painkiller use escalated, she claimed that different sources were causing her pain, including electricity, energy, colors, and even specific people. Her family confronts her to try and help shed her demons.

Following “Intervention” is the season two premiere of the oddly fascinating show “Hoarders” which begins tonight on A&E. The series follows compulsive hoarders as they try to clean up their intense and beyond disgusting garbage and clutter filled homes. More importantly though, they try to clean up their lives and get back on track from the traumas that have led to this behavior. Tonight’s episode follows a woman named Augustine whose home has become so disgusting she has no gas, heat or appliances. She showers once a week at her sister’s house. After Child Protective Services took her son away 14 years ago he returns to try and help Augustine clean up her act before she winds up in jail because she refuses to comply with a court ordered clean-up.

Ripped From The Headlines
Production begins tomorrow in Los Angeles on a movie based on the tragic events that occurred at an Amish Schoolhouse in October 2006. Kimberly Williams-Paisley will star in “Amish Grace,” a made-for-TV film about the aftermath of the brutal crime that happened in Nickels Mine, PA, when a gunman walked into the schoolhouse and killed five young girls and then took his own life. The story received national attention not only for the gruesome crime, but also for how quickly the leaders of the Amish community offered forgiveness to the shooter and his widow. Williams-Paisley will play the mother of one of the shooters victims and Tammy Blanchard is set to star as the widow of the shooter. The movie is set to air in 2010.
Kelsey’s Broadway Bow
His ABC sitcom “Hank” may have been cancelled, but Kelsey Grammer is getting right back to work. The Emmy winning actor will make his Broadway musical debut in the Tony Award winning show “La Cage Aux Folles.” Grammer will play Georges, the owner/emcee of the St. Tropez nightclub where his partner, Albin, stars as the drag queen headliner, Zaza. It is the 2nd revival of “La Cage” in recent years – the 2004 production won the Tony for Best Revival of a Musical. Grammer has previously appeared on Broadway in “Macbeth” and “Othello” but has never performed in a musical on the Great White Way. Previews begin on April 6, 2010 and the show opens on April 18, 2010 at Broadway’s Longacre Theatre (220 West 48th Street).
