Dax Shepard Explains Story Behind Daughter Delta’s Name
Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell’s second daughter’s name has an interesting backstory.
“It was a joke because our first daughter’s name is Lincoln, which is very masculine, so a friend of mine teasingly texted me, ‘Oh, great, what’s this one gonna be? Navy Seal, Delta Force, Green Beret?’ And, I was reading this text out loud to Kristen,” he recalled of the couple’s epiphany. “I was like, ‘Delta. Delta Bell Shepard. That’s it!'”
Little baby Delta is now 3 weeks old and the family – including big sister Lincoln, 21 months – are adjusting well.

“She’s a super healer, Kristen, ’cause she’s never smoked, never drank, eats perfect,” Dax raved of his wife on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Thursday. “She’s like Wolverine. You cut her and as the knife’s going through, it’s sealing.”
And, bounce back she did indeed! Kristen looked pretty in pink on January 7 at the People’s Choice Awards with her husband by her side.

After enduring 33 hours of labor, Kristen underwent a C-section – which Dax explained in graphic detail. Since witnessing that, the dad feels he too deserved a push present.
“I think dads need something,” he said. “I deserve something because I was along for the ride. It’s still a car crash and I’m in the passenger seat. I’m playing Katy Perry and I’m breathing and I’m rubbing her back and I fatigue and I think I need something for this. Help me.”
