Bode Miller’s Wife Morgan Wishes Their Late Daughter A Merry Christmas: ‘We Miss You So Much’
This holiday season is a bittersweet one for Bode Miller’s family.
The Olypmic alpine ski racer and his wife, volleyball player Morgan Beck, observed their first Christmas without their youngest daughter, Emeline, on Tuesday. The tot – who went by the nickname Emmy – died this past June after drowning in a neighbor’s swimming pool.
“Merry Christmas to our baby girl in heaven. We miss you so much!” Morgan wrote alongside an Instagram photo of her husband and their brood, including their 2-month-old son. The athletic couple welcomed the infant mere months after Emmy’s death, making for an especially turbulent year.

“2018 has been a year full of overwhelming sadness and overwhelming joy,” she reflected. “We have spent half of the year mourning and attempting to heal the loss of our angel, which feels like an impossible battle, all while celebrating the birth of our son.”
“Seeking normalcy for our children has been our driving force forward,” Morgan continued. “Normally, I would be looking forward to a ‘fresh beginning’ in 2019, but there is no more starting fresh after the loss of a child.
“So here’s to a healthy 2019 full of personal growth and creating many memories with my babies, full of smiles and laughs. Wishing everyone a special holiday season surrounded by loved ones.”

In the six months since Emmy’s passing, Morgan has kept the toddler’s memory alive through her activism for children’s water safety and her candid social media posts.
The famous mom also commemorated her daughter’s time on earth with a glittering painting of her pulse, which she showed off on Instagram last month.
“This is my baby girl’s heartbeat. The one that pulsed across the screen showing me the gift of life I had growing inside me. The one that gave me joy and excitement for the day I was able to hold her in my arms and fall madly in love,” she wrote in part at the time. “That is a moment I want to hold onto forever.”
