White & Gold Or Blue & Black? Dress Girl Speaks Out!
So, is the dress really white and gold or blue and black? The girl responsible for posting a photo of the dress has the answer!
On Friday morning, Toronto radio station KiSS 92.5 got to the bottom of the mystery when they spoke to 21-year-old Caitlin McNeill from Scotland, who goes by the Tumblr name swiked.
“I see white and gold in that picture, but I was there at the wedding and it was blue and black,” she confirmed, and according to the radio show hosts, the company who manufactures the now sold-out dress also claims it is, in fact, blue and black.

How did this color debate even start?
“My friends were getting married and it was the mother of the bride’s dress that’s caused all this hassle,” Caitlin explained. “I think it was the mother of the bride [who] took the picture and sent it to the bride and then the bride showed it to her fiance and they couldn’t agree on what color it was and that’s kind of where it all started.”

According to Caitlin, the jury is still out on a reliable explanation as to why some people are seeing the blue and black dress as white and gold.
“There’s been some fairly ridiculous explanations being sent [out], but none of them seem entirely based on fact yet, so I’m still waiting for one that convinces me,” she said.
The girl behind the internet sensation said she is floored by the response and can no longer keep up with all the comments.
“I managed to keep tabs on it for a couple of hours when it first started going a bit crazy, but after that I just kind of completely lost track, so I just keep checking in every now and again and seeing if we’re still trending,” she added. “It was absolutely insane. I mean, I still feel like I’m in a bit of a dream.”

She took credit for causing a worldwide ruckus on Thursday night and jokingly apologized to people who got caught up in the perplexing mind game.
“I think I’d like to say I’m sorry to half the world and I’d like to say I’m glad you had a good time arguing with your family to the rest of the world,” she said.
