Amanda Bynes’ Hospitalization: How It Unfolded
New details have emerged surrounding Amanda Bynes’ involuntary psychiatric hospitalization last week.
Sam Lutfi, who was linked to Britney Spears at the time of her 2008 psychiatric hospitalization, told Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush in a 25-minute phone conversation that while he was not involved in getting Bynes, 28, hospitalized, he did help get the former actress from New York to Los Angeles.
Lutfi opened up to Billy, after the Access host reached out to him to get clarification on the events surrounding Bynes’ recent troubles. Lutfi told Billy that he and Bynes struck up a friendship via Twitter following the Spears incident in 2008.

After Bynes contacted him last week, Lutfi told Billy he arranged a flight for the headline-maker to fly to Los Angeles. Bynes missed her first flight at LaGuardia Airport, but did manage to make a different flight from JFK to LA.

According to Lutfi, he only helped arrange Bynes’ travel to LA and was not involved in getting her to a hospital in Pasadena, Calif. Once she arrived at LAX, the Bynes family and lawyer arranged for the former actress’ hospitalization.
As for Lutfi’s motivation for getting involved, he told Billy that he simply has a desire to help those in need.

Also on Monday, Tamar Arminak ââ¬â lawyer for Bynes’ parents ââ¬â confirmed that Bynes’ hospitalization has been extended for 14 more days.
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, prior to being hospitalized, Bynes went on a Twitter rant on Friday first alleging that her father, Rick, abused her, and then recanted the allegations while making yet another startling claim that a microchip had been place in her head. The family also vehemently denied the abuse allegation.
