Alex PenaVega and Witney Carson, and Gary Busey and his pro, Anna Trebunskaya were put in jeopardy at the end of the broadcast, and the elimination news went to Gary and Anna.
“[In] 45 years of doing show business, I never expected this and it’s been a beautiful experience because with Anna, ‘From Russia with Love,’ I learned things I had in myself that I could emphasize… and be better with and from and in,” Gary said after learning the news from Erin Andrews and Alfonso Ribeiro (who filled in for Tom Bergeron).

“And this has been a beautiful experience,” Gary continued. “The fact that I’ve been eliminated was false, because my spirit with Anna, as a partnership, will remain in this room throughout the show, so you won’t see us dancing, but we’ll be there and the point of it is, this has been a beautiful experience and I’ve learned so much from everyone… how to be better with everyone.”
Monday night’s show was very emotional for the celebrities, especially Bindi Irwin, who took the top spot on the leaderboard with her pro partner Derek Hough. The year her routine came from was 2006, when she lost her dad, Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin.
The young woman’s contemporary number with Derek, exemplifying the father/daughter bond, was incredibly beautiful and the crowd responded by giving her a lengthy standing ovation.
“This dance is for my dad and for my family, for everyone back at home, but for my dad. This is for him,” Bindi said after finishing the number with Derek.

“That dance was breathtaking,” Judge Julianne Hough said. “That was a tribute to your father, and I know that you should be very proud, but he is very proud too.”
“Baby, he was dancing with you every step of the way,” Judge Bruno Tonioli added.
Julianne and Carrie Ann Inaba gave them 9s, while Bruno gave the pair a 10, for a total of 28 out of 30.
A host of teams earned 27-points for the night, including Tamar Braxton and Val Chmerkovskiy, Hayes Grier and Emma Slater and Nick Carter and his pro, Sharna Burgess. Of the remaining contestants (Gary and Anna scored lower), Paula Deen and Louis van Amstel landed at the bottom of the pack with 18 out of 30.
