Glam Slam: Reboot For Fall

Every Fall since I was in the sixth grade, I’ve gotten a new pair of boots. It’s one of my favorite fashion traditions. The thing about boots is that they are a good investment because they are versatile and something you can wear a lot.

OVER THE KNEE
Probably the hottest trend in footwear this season, the over-the-knee boot is simultaneously sexy and sophisticated. Wear them with skinny jeans or mini-dresses. If you’re not a total fashion extrovert, start out by trying out a relaxed, flat pair – they’re not only more comfortable, but they give off a more laid-back appearance.

RIDING BOOTS
These boots never go out of style. They’re traditional and go with everything. Pair them with leggings or skinny jeans and a blazer for a casual chic look. This shape is so timeless and versatile; the fashion operatives are even making rain boots in this style.

TOUGH +SEXY
Perhaps because leather and neon are both big clothing trends, the rocker look of these black, heavily accented leather boots are in step with a very of-the-moment look. They can add an instant edge to any look – try them with leggings or denim. For the more daring, pair them with a skirt or dress.

WESTERN
The more worn-in these kicks get, the better they look. Wear them with tucked-in denim or tights and a cute skirt. Don’t go full throttle cowgirl with this look though; keep it simple and let the boots make the “western” statement. The idea is to make them look casual and cool, not costume-y.

COOL CLASSIC
These are your go-everywhere go-tos: jeans, pants, skirts and dresses. You name it and these will complement your outfit perfectly. The modern updates include sleek versions with a stacked heel, slightly slouchy shapes or subtly detailed pairs–look for extras like swingy tassels for a playful touch or grommets for a bit of edginess.
