Jennifer Hudson On ‘We Are The World’ Remake: ‘History Will Be Made’

A number of all-star musicians will gather on Monday to record a new version of the charity anthem, “We Are The World” – and Jennifer Hudson told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson on the red carpet of the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards that she’ll be among them.

“I am participating in that,” Jennifer confirmed. “It’s the 25th anniversary of the original one, so it’s such an honor & history will be made.”

But the young star admitted that she had to refresh herself on the 1985 original.

“I was about 3,” she laughed. “But I’m glad to be here 25 or so years later. I went back and looked at it on YouTube.”

And Grammy night itself was a special occasion for Jennifer, who sang in a tribute to Michael Jackson at the show and also brought her baby son, David – who she said might have a Grammy future of his own.

“He’s humming a little bit!” she said of her son’s budding musical talent. “[It’s] his first Grammy Awards experience, he has his little hat on and he’s back there yelling and excited to be here.”

As for other stars performing on the new “We Are The World,” which will benefit Haiti relief, Lionel Richie — who co-wrote the song with Michael Jackson — told Access they’re still mustering the troops.

“The choir will be larger… I will say that to you,” he said, confirming Jamie Foxx and Miley Cyrus would also be performing. “Ne-Yo is going to be there. We want to make sure that we get everybody we need first.”
