Leonardo DiCaprio Auctions A Night On The Red Carpet For Global Green USA
Leonardo DiCaprio is putting himself on the auction block for charity.
The star is offering a number of items and experiences on eBay starting tonight to benefit Global Green USA, an environmental non-profit whose board he serves on.
The auctions include the chance to attend the red carpet premiere of Leo’s next film, the Scorsese-directed “Shutter Island,” with three guests and have a personal meet-and-greet with the star; autographed costume pieces from “Catch Me If You Can”; signed memorabilia from “Titanic” and personalized headshots; an Antartica coffee table book signed by Leo and Mikhail Gorbachev; and a number of other items.
The auction runs from 7 PM PST on Wednesday night through 7 PM PST on Wednesday, April 22, which is Earth Day, via ebay.com/globalgreen.
“By bidding on these items at ebay.com/globalgreen, people will help Global Green combat climate change and pursue important environmental imperatives, such as greening our nation’s schools, housing, cities and more,” DiCaprio said in a statement to Access.
The star has been involved in a number of eco-friendly causes over the years, including producing and narrating “The 11th Hour,” a 2007 documentary on the state of the environment.
