Access Viewers Sound Off Over Heidi Montag Interview

Heidi Montag has set off a firestorm of viewer comments and Tweets after she debuted her new body and then sat down with Access Hollywood to talk about her dramatic transformation – something she claims almost killed her.

“I almost died after my procedure,” Heidi told Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush on Monday. “I had too much Demerol like Michael Jackson did and my breathing was five breaths per minute which is like almost dead. [I was] in an aftercare center, there were nurses that were supposed to be tending to me at all times.

Heidi’s surgeon, Dr. Frank Ryan, told Access’ Shaun Robinson on Tuesday, “That didn’t happen as far as I know.”

On Thursday, Heidi and Dr. Ryan released a statement about the incident.

“We would like to clarify that the incident I referred to previously, happened five days after my surgery in an aftercare facility while under the nursing staffs care. Thankfully I had been under the care and continuous watch of top plastic surgeon, Dr. Frank Ryan, and his expertise and quick response reduced any potential risk and I was not harmed in any way, the two said. “This is why it is important to have a qualified board certified plastic surgeon and I would also highly recommend dedicating as much time to researching your aftercare facility as you spend finding your plastic surgeon whether it is a private nurse or after care center.”

On November 20, Heidi underwent ten procedures that included a mini brow lift, Botox in the forehead, a nose job revision, fat injections in her cheeks and lips, a chin reduction, neck liposuction, having her ears pinned back, a breast augmentation revision, liposuction on her waist and thighs and a buttocks augmentation.

Though Heidi claims to have had a brush with death on her quest for beauty, she’s finding very little sympathy from the vocal Access audience.

“The first time I saw Heidi was on ‘I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here’ and I thought she was such a cute girl. She had that innocence about her. Now, she doesn’t even look like herself. I think it’s just sad,” Sarah O’Toole wrote on our Facebook page.

Jeannie Marie questioned if the surgery has helped improver her looks, writing, “She looks worse than before. Before she was still natural, now she looks plastic & fake.”

One viewer believes that the reality starlet is setting a bad example for her young fans.

“She’s insecure if that’s all she’s worrying about. She’s sending the wrong message to the young girls today who think of beauty in a certain way,” Access Hollywood Facebook fan Shannon wrote.

Shaun Robinson’s Twitter followers blasted off Tweets about Heidi, with Krisjess Tweeting, “I believe Heidi’s doctor over Heidi 100%, he has too much to lose to lie on TV, she gains from it,” and, “You could tell she was lying through her plastic, non-moving face!”

Charlene L. left comment on Shaun Robinson’s Facebook, saying, “She’s gonna regret [the surgery] in 30 yrs.” And Billy’s Facebook fan, Neysa, wrote, “Soooo dumb risking her life ad now she looks older!!!!!”

Heidi might be causing a ruckus with our viewers, but her transformation has definitely helped her stay in the public’s eye. At press time on Thursday, she was listed in the eighth position on USA Today’s Celebrity Heat Index – which tracks “the movers and shakers in pop culture” – beating out Gwen Stefani and Conan O’Brien and coming in just behind Jay Leno.
