Stevie Nicks Mistakenly Refers To Harry Styles As A Member Of *NSYNC At Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Ceremony
Oops — Stevie Nicks can’t keep her boy bands straight!
The Fleetwood Mac songstress made a hilarious flub when she accidentally referred to Harry Styles as member of *NSYNC at her Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Friday, March 29, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
After the One Direction star presented the 70-year-old music icon with her honor at the event, Stevie spoke with reporters backstage and explained their special bond. “When Harry decided to make a solo record from *NSYNC,” she began before quickly realizing her mistake. ”Not *NSYNC, sorry. I’m never going to live that one down. One Direction,” she clarified over the laughter in the press room.

Stevie continued, “He could have gone one or two ways. He could have made a serious pop record, which would have been less of a risk, or he could have made a rock and roll record and take a risk, and he did.”
She further praised Harry and revealed that she was impressed with his talent after attending one of his shows at The Troubadour. “He fits in with all of us,” Stevie said. “He loves our music, and he loves the whole ’70s and ’80s and ’90s music he has been doing all this time. And he toured that record into the ground, which is what you are supposed to do. He will still be around in 30 or 40 years, just as I have continued to do.”

Earlier in the evening, Harry joined Stevie onstage to perform a duet of “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around.” In his speech, the “Sign of the Times” singer honored his mentor as “the magical gypsy godmother who occupies the in-between. She is both an adjective and a verb.”
Stevie is the first woman in history to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame twice. She was first inducted in 1998 with Fleetwood Mac and then again this year as a solo artist.
