Glam Slam: Shapewear Secrets
Body-con is practically Kim Kardashianââ¬â¢s middle name, and she just rocked a few curve hugging looks at Paris Fashion Week.
I admire that she has the figure and the confidence to pull it off. She owns it! I, myself, am not blessed with either the body or the confidenceââ¬Â¦ but an easy way women of all shapes and sizes can feel better in their clothes comes courtesy of shapewear.

Itââ¬â¢s just a matter of knowing what to wear — under there!
Heather Thomson, star of Bravoââ¬â¢s “Real Housewives of New York City” and founder of Yummie by Heather Thomson shares her shaping secrets.
Embrace your Curves
I always tell women itââ¬â¢s important to know your right size. Trying to size down will only cause discomfort, and can actually make you appear larger. A great tip to keep in mind when shopping in any department is confidence ââ¬â if you feel it on the inside, others will see it on the outside! Make sure you can sit down comfortably, walk around, and that the piece stays in place.
Three Shapwear Must-Haves
The right foundation is so important for everyone of all shapes and sizes. Three shaping essentials every woman must own are an everyday smoothing tank, a shaping slip and a slimming bottom. These pieces target those trouble spots, your belly, butt and thighs giving you the confidence you deserve, and the versatility you need, to rock all your favorite clothes all season long.
Just make sure the pieces are designed correctly for your shape. If you love that bra you spent so much time searching for — get yourself a bustless slip. And if thongs are your thing — the right shaper thong won’t steer you wrong! My goal has been to modernize the idea of shaping foundations and design them as essentials — those pieces you wear everyday — but not limited to undergarments.
Put Your Leggings to Work
Leggings were made to live in ââ¬â so let them shape you too! Grab a pair with shaping features built in to smooth and slim those stems throughout the day. They can be worn with an oversized sweater to run errands, a long blazer to the office, or a tank to the gym.
As we transition into the fall and Holiday season, remember we shouldn’t lean on our shapewear to “define” us, it should “compliment” us!
