A ‘DESPERATE’ TURN FOR DAVID & ROBBIE?: Could David Beckham be heading to Wisteria Lane? “Desperate Housewives” creator Marc Cherry certainly hopes he will! CONTACT MUSIC reports that Beckham and British pop star Robbie Williams are at the top of Cherry’s list to guest star on an upcoming “Housewives” episode…as a gay couple! “David and Robbie are perfect to star as the new neighbours’ best friends; the gorgeous, eccentric couple flown over from Blighty (Britain),” Cherry has said, according to reports. “We want it to cause such a stir when they turn out to be together.” When Access reached out for comment on Beckham and Williams, a “Housewives” publicist simply replied, “I wish.”

HISTORIC DEBATE DRAWS CELEBS: Democratic presidential candidates will debate gay issues in tomorrow night’s live forum on the Logo network, and some openly gay TV stars will reportedly be in attendance for the groundbreaking event. E! ONLINE’s MARC MALKIN reports that Emmy nominees T.R. Knight (“Grey’s Anatomy”) and Neil Patrick Harris (“How I Met Your Mother”) are expected to be in the audience. As previously reported , Logo is coproducing the event with the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation. Presidential candidates Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, John Edwards, Dennis Kucinich, Mike Gravel and Bill Richardson will take part in the debate, which will kick off at 9:00 PM ET.

ROSEANNE REFUTES RAMBLING RANT: Roseanne Barr denies writing an off-color, rambling message which showed up on her MySpace page on Sunday. But the actress/comedienne wrote on her official blog that the entry (which has since been deleted) was actually written by one her staff. “One of the interns who was administering my MySpace page has been fired,” she wrote Monday evening. “I apologize for the offensive blogging that went on there last night.” The feisty Roseanne joked in a posting a few hours later, “The fired intern from Myspace has also stolen my private sex tape. I am offering $25,000 for it’s return (unless someone would like to distribute it – then I am willing to deal).”

‘BACKSTREET’ MISSING A BOY: The Backstreet Boys have opened up about losing one of their members, Kevin Richardson, who left the group last year to “pursue other interests.” PEOPLE spoke to current members Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell and AJ McClean about Richardson’s absence from recording their new album (due Oct. 30). Despite feeling “kind of a shock” at first, Carter reportedly said: “Everyone understood. There were no hard feelings and that’s just the way it needs to be. We’ve been through a lot in 14 years together, and there’s no need to get angry or overly emotional…the door’s always open for Kevin whenever he wants to come back.”

DIDDY’S EX EXPLAINS: Actress/Model Kim Porter has broken her silence about her recent split with longtime boyfriend Diddy, with whom she has had three children.In aninterview with Ryan Smith for OK! magazine ,Porter reportedly said, “I’d been in an on-again, off-again relationship with Mr. Combs for about 10 years, and it came to a point where it was time for me to move on with my life. I had invested a lot of time in that relationship, and it wasn’t going where it should have been going. So it was time to [end it].”

THE ‘POWER’ OF A COOL MILLION: And finally, last night was good to Jamie Sadler, a 19-year-old college sophomore from Upper Montclair, N.J., who won $1 million as the very first contestant on “Power of 10,” CBS’ new game show.“I thought, ‘If I get the answers right, I win money. If not, I get to go on a cool show and meet [show host] Drew Carey,’” Sadler reportedly told THE NY POST’s MICHAEL STARR . Sadler also revealed that he never intended to even be on the show! “My girlfriend [Daryn] found out about the show, and I sort of went with her [to the audition] to hang out,” he is quoted as saying. “The whole situation was hard to believe.”
