Ryan Jenkins’ Father: Hollywood Corrupted My Son
The news of Ryan Jenkins’ apparent suicide following the alleged murder of his ex-wife Jasmine Fiore has left reality contestant’s family in shock.
The 32-year-old’s father, Dan Jenkins, an architect in Calgary, Canada, told The Los Angeles Times that he believes Hollywood changed his son.
“If my son was guilty, he was crazy. He was not the boy we knew. The boy we knew was not capable of anything remotely close to this act,” Dan Jenkins said of the former “Megan Wants A Millionaire” contestant.
He believes a major shift occurred when his son moved to Los Angeles.
“You talk to everyone here who knew him before he went down there and they’ll talk about a wonderful young man, a thoughtful man,” he told the paper.
In other Ryan Jenkins news, Stuart Brazell, the casting director who selected him for the VH1 reality show told Larry King on Monday night’s “Larry King Live,” that the alleged murder and apparent suicide have left her stunned.
“I was completely shocked he would have been capable of doing this,” Brazell said. “I could see he could be a loose cannon. But, no, did I think he was capable of murdering his wife? Absolutely not.”
She said when she first met Ryan Jenkins in Las Vegas she thought he “was the ideal contestant for these shows. You want a big personality. You want loud. You want someone that’s entertaining and that’s going to cause conflict in the house. That’s exactly what I looked for and that’s what he was.”
Fiore was found dead on August 15, in Buena Park, Calif. An international manhunt for Ryan Jenkins ended when he was found dead on Sunday in a motel in rural British Columbia.
