Access Exclusive: Jen’s Rep Denies Engagement

When “Today’s” news anchor Ann Curry asked Min how US Weekly knew the couple were engaged, Min claimed that US Weekly had multiple sources and “one very, very good one.”

Min went on to tell Ann that Jen and Vince Vaughn allegedly got engaged on June 27 following a nine-day trip to Mexico, where the celebrity duo stayed at a $25 million estate.

As the couple flew home to LA on a private GulfStream jet, Min told Ann thatVince allegedly got down on one knee, proposed and Jensaid, “Yes.”

So, Access went to Ken Baker, the West Coast executive editor for US Weekly, and asked him if he is 100 percent sure that Jen and Vince are engaged.

?I can?tgo and confirm that for you 100 percent, but I will tell you this, they are engaged,? Ken said. ?They are getting married, and they are as happy as they have ever been and anything you’ve read about them that the wedding’s off is not true at all.?

?If we had this story, the first word out of our mouths on AH would be “Engaged!” Access Hollywood’s BillyBush told Ken. ?Boom. This comes up a little short, don?t you agree??

?Jen says, ?Yes,? Vince proposes,? Billy said. ?Doesn?t that seem like an out-of-order story? It could be that Vince proposes they eat seafood at Bob and Larry’s. Jen says, ?Great idea.??

?I see what you?re saying, but if you read the story, clearly he proposed, asked for her hand in marriage, and Jen said, ?Yes,?? Ken laughed.

Ken had some more details of the alleged proposal as well.

?Vince wanted to pop the question on the beach in Mexico,? Ken told Billy. ?Vince actually chickened out. He was afraid to pop the question. He just got cold feet. They were on the private jet back to Los Angeles on June 27, so, he got down on one knee, showed her the ring, popped the question, and she said, ?Yes.??

US Weekly claims the ring Vince bought Jen has a $500,000 diamond, which would be larger than the $200,000 ring she got from Brad!

No wedding date has been set, the magazine claims, but there is speculation that it will be a beach affair in Mexico in 2007.
