U2 Spoofs Bono’s Bike Crash On ‘The Tonight Show’ (Watch)
Bono – ever the good sport!
The U2 frontman stopped by “The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon” on Friday night, and made light of the bike crash which left him sidelined for months.
In a pre-taped clip, Bono and Jimmy hopped on bicycles in front of 30 Rock (where the “Tonight Show” films), and began riding down the sidewalk.
Their bike bliss was short-lived, however, as a van hit and ran over Bono.
The 54-year-old rocker got back up, only to be hit by the van two more cringe-inducing times.
“I’m good, Jimmy, just a few scratches,” Bono told the late night host. ‘I’m ready to do the show.”
The end of the clip revealed the driver and passengers of the van to be Bono’s bandmates, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr.
“Where the f**k can we park this thing?” asked The Edge.
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Bono’s real life biking accident was no joke.
He suffered multiple injuries, including fractures to his left eye socket, shoulder blade and left elbow, when he crashed his bike in Central Park in November. He required hours of surgery after what doctors called a “high-energy bicycle accident.”
The rocker now has a titanium elbow, and in January, he said he may “never play guitar again” due to his injuries.
