Kate Gosselin: ‘I Am Going To Win’ ‘Dancing With The Stars’

Reality star Kate Gosselin says she “cannot dance” but plans on winning “Dancing with the Stars.”

“I cannot dance,” Kate said during an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Monday. “I really want to learn how to dance, so we’ll see.”

The mother of eight said she’d split her time between LA and the Gosselin family home in Pennsylvania while on the ABC series.

“I’m going to travel back to Pennsylvania. My partner [Tony Dovolani] will go with me. I’m going to practice in my basement while [the kids are] home or sleeping and while they are at school, I’ll go to a local studio,” Kate explained. “The whole goal is to be at home as much as I can, and I’ll go back and forth each week.”

The busy mom said she hopes to still balance her brood and ballroom work.

“If I can cook dinner and dance, I’ll be doing really well,” she said.

Jimmy pointed out that she’s up against Pussycat Doll lead singer Nicole Scherzinger, who is known for her dance skills.

“It is concerning, because I am going to win,” a confident Kate proclaimed.

“Are you a competitive person?” Jimmy asked.

“Have you watched my show?” Kate said, adding that she believes Nicole and Pamela Anderson are her biggest competition.

“I’m going to give it my all, that’s all I can say,” she added. “Please vote for me!”

And it appears she already has one person backing her, ex-husband Jon Gosselin has pledged his support for Kate.

“Jon is happy for Kate and supportive of her joining the new season of ‘DWTS,’” a rep for Jon said in a statement to Access Hollywood.

Kate’s partner Tony is also throwing his support behind Kate.

“Although we have only had 3 rehearsals I see potential – she has the drive and determination needed to compete on ‘DWTS’ and as the saying goes, ‘where there is a will there is a way.’” Tony told Access Hollywood. “She is setting an example [to] take a challenge, face your fears… It’s OK to be a mom and do something for yourself and at the same time you can teach your children and those around you that you can face your challenges, no matter what the circumstances and never give up. She came with no dance experience which is actually a good thing, [so] I have no bad habits to fix”

Kate and Tony and the rest of the couples will hit the dance floor on the two-hour season premiere on Monday, March 22 at 8 PM on ABC.
