NUPTIALS NEAR?: Is Jay-Z planning to wed longtime girlfriend Beyonce? USMAGAZINE.COM reports the rapper told reporters yesterday, “One day soon — let’s leave it at that.” Jay-Z was speaking at a press conference in Las Vegas to announce plans to open his third 40/40 Club at the Palazzo hotel.
A MUSICAL MATCH: John Mayer is ecstatic about a musical “marriage” he had with Alicia Keys. In a posting on his official Web site, Mayer wrote: “I’ve been busy in the studio, both with my own music and working with Alicia. We wrote a song called “Lesson Learned” and it was one of the best creative experiences I’ve ever had.”
FUN WITH THE GIRLS: Eva Longoria and Christina Applegate enjoyed a girls’ night out in West Hollywood this week, PEOPLE reports. The two were joined by three friends and Eva’s dog, Trixie, as they “gabbed over drinks” at Chateau Marmont. As they left their table, they reportedly said goodbye to Brooke Shields, who was with a group of her own female friends.
CARMELA COMES TO THE ROCK: “Sopranos” star Edie Falco will guest star in three episodes of NBC’s “30 Rock” this season, TV GUIDE reports, though the nature of her role is being kept under wraps. “I have laughed out loud at this show, and I am thrilled for the opportunity to work with such great comic actors,” Falco reportedly said.
INJURED ‘DAISY’: Actress Kristin Chenoweth fell down a concrete staircase at her home and fractured a few ribs, E! ONLINE’s KRISTIN VEITCH reports. Sources reportedly told Veitch that Chenoweth, a regular on ABC’s new series, “Pushing Daisies,” is recovering and is determined not to affect the show’s production schedule. She reportedly returned to the set yesterday.
A NEW TWIST: MTV has greenlit 10 episodes of a reality dating series starring a bisexual woman, THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER reports. “A Shot at Love With Tila Tequila” will reportedly feature “the most popular girl in the history of MySpace” choosing from among both male and female suitors. The show is scheduled to premiere Oct. 9.
