Justin Bieber Releases New Breakup Ballad Teasers

New music is on the way from Justin Bieber.

The singer gave Beliebers a preview of a new song on Wednesday when he posted two short videos on Instagram.

“How do our lives become lighter/How do our eyes become brighter/Gotta believe in something higher,” he sang in the first clip.

Following his split from Selena Gomez last year, Justin reportedly turned to religion for comfort. The lyric “gotta believe in something higher,” could be in reference to a higher spiritual power.

Justin also posted a second video on Instagram, featuring additional verses.

While Justin hasn’t explained what the song is about just yet, the words could reference his feelings following his split with Selena.

“When it’s raining, it’s pouring/How do I always end up the enemy/Woah-oh/How do I wake up in the morning/and you’re not right next to me/How did we throw it all away?” he continued.

Selena fought back tears when she performed her own breakup ballad, “The Heart Wants What it Wants,” at the American Music Awards in November 2014.
