Comics Hollywood-Style: From Geek To Chic

What used to be a little get together for a few thousand sci-fi fans down in San Diego has grown into a gigantic event and a happy convergence of fans and stars.

?It’s not even Halloween and there are so many people dressed up here,? Jennifer Love Hewitt laughingly told Access Hollywood. ?I feel like a rock star.?

Call it Comic-Con couture!

This weekend, more than 100,000 fully decked out sci-fi/fantasy enthusiasts gathered in San Diego for the event of the season.

The 4-day convention could be called a nerdfest, but some real Hollywood beauties have taken the Con from geek to chic!

?The energy is crazy,? Eva Mendes told Access.

Hilary Swank was impressed by the sheer size of the crowd.

?I think there were more people in the audience here than there were at the Oscars,? she laughed.

And that kind of fan dedication brings out major star power! Not even the LA traffic could keep ?Ghost Whisperer?s? Jennifer from making an appearance.

?I could tell you from my four hour drive in traffic here these people have traveled a long time just to get to be here,? Jennifer said. ?Seriously it took us like almost four and a half. It was insane, but worth it, totally worth it.?

Eva, lovely in Juicy Couture, showed up with an Elvised-out Nicolas Cage to promote ?Ghost Rider,? while two-time Oscar winner Hilary talked up her latest movie, ?The Reaping.?

But the big moment?

Yes, the Con is extra crazy for the ?Spider-Man 3? premiere crew!

Regulars Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst were joined by new co-stars Topher Grace and Bryce Dallas Howard.

But could this movie be Spidey?s last hurrah?

?A final spin for Spider-Man? I don’t think so,? Kirsten Dunst laughed. ?This definitely brings together a culmination for a lot of characters. But I also feel like there’s, if there’s good stories to tell, then we’ll all be on board.?
