Britney To Seacrest: ‘It’s Sad How Cruel This World Can Be’

On the heels of a judge handing down his revised custody ruling, Britney Spears is speaking out in an interview with Ryan Seacrest.

In a phone interview on Seacrest’s KIIS FM morning show on Wednesday, Britney talked about the release of her new CD, how she celebrated and how she’s handling all of the negative press.

“How did your day go? Did you do anything?” Ryan asked Britney about her “Blackout” release date on Tuesday.

“No,” Britney giggled. “Watched movies… We ate fried chicken and cookies.”

So what is the pop star doing to promote her new CD?

“This is it,” she revealed.

Also on the phone from Britney’s house were her pals Alli Sims and Sam Lufti.

“We don’t need to promote it anymore, we’re on your show,” Sam added.

And when it comes to all of the negative press Britney has been getting, how does she cope with it all?

“I try not to let it get to me,” she told Seacrest. “The tabloids. The magazines… you just try to keep doing what you’re doing. As long as you know what’s up, that’s all that really matters.”

In a ruling made public on Tuesday, LA Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon ruled Britney would be getting three visits a week with her two boys – Sean Preston and Jayden James, but would also have to childproof her home and submit to two random drugand alcohol urine tests.

According to , Britney will have two visits with her boys, from 12PM – 7PM and one overnight visit per week, lasting from noon until 10AM the following day.

As the custody battle with Kevin Federline has raged on, Britney’s ability as a mother has been called into question on numerous occasions.

But how does she respond to those who say she’s a bad mother?

“People say what they want and do what they want. It’s sad how cruel our world can be,” she added. “In the end of the day, you have to know in your heart you’re doing the best that you can.”

Britney then abruptly ended the interview, and when Alli got on the phone with Seacrest, she said Britney had hopped in the shower, prompting Seacrest to say he’d call back when she was out.

However, when he did, although a giggly Alli and Sam passed the phone back and forth, Britney did not continue the interview.

“Her kids just got here,” Alli told Seacrest and his listeners, adding they were all headed to McDonald’s for breakfast.

Seacrest then pleaded with Brit’s pals to put the pop star back on the phone.

“She should say something to her fans,” Seacrest told Sam.
However, despite Seacrest’s efforts, Britney did not return to the interview.

Joining Seacrest in the studio as another guest was former *NSYNC’er Lance Bass, who spoke about his relationship with Britney during the early years.

“It was definitely like having a sister. When her and Justin were together, they were like sweethearts,” Lance told Seacrest.

And while Lance also revealed he has yet to meet either of Britney’s two sons, that will apparently soon change as both Sam and Lance said that the ex-boy bander was headed to Britney’s house tonight for a Halloween party.
