Joe Jonas ‘Completely Shocked’ Over Emmy Nomination For ‘JONAS’
Joe Jonas may have rocked out at the Grammys, but he never expected to be an Emmy nominee.
“I had no idea, I didn’t even think about it,” the rocker-turned-TV star told Access Hollywood of “JONAS’” Emmy nomination for Outstanding Children’s Program. “I’m completely shocked and so thankful.”
Joe added that he was the first JoBro to hear the good news.
“I got the news first – my brother Nick is in London right now, doing [‘Les Miserables’],” he explained. “I was kind of out it, asleep.”
However, the Disney Channel show isn’t the only Disney feature competing in the category – and Joe told Access there may be some friendly rivalry as the ceremony draws closer. Other shows nominated in the category include Disney’s “Hannah Montana” and “Wizards of Waverly Place” (which was also nominated for its TV movie), as well as Nickelodeon’s “iCarly.”
“It is [a Disney competition], it’s awesome,” Joe said. “I’m really thrilled for everybody. I think there will be a little bit of rivalry between me and [‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ star] David Henrie, though.”
While Joe’s honored to be nominated, he said he and his brothers will be hitting the road during the ceremony.
“We actually are going to be on tour while the Emmys are going on,” he said. “So we might just have our own little party, watching the television screen from the side of the stage.”
The 62nd Primetime Emmys air on NBC on August 29.
