Zac Efron Signs On For Big Screen Thriller
Zac Efron is hoping to scare up a big hit at the box office with his latest project.
The former “High School Musical” star has signed on to star in an as-of-yet untitled thriller, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
No plot details on the project are available yet. However, it will also mark Efron’s debut as an executive producer.
The movie will be written by Leslie Dixon, whose other writing credits include “The Heartbreak Kid,” “Just Like Heaven,” “Pay It Forward” and “The Thomas Crown Affair.”
The film will also mark a reunion for Efron and Dixon, who worked together on 2007’s “Hairspray.”
Efron’s last big screen role was opposite Matthew Perry in the comedy “17 Again.”
The actor will next be seen in the period romance film “Me and Orson Welles,” alongside Claire Danes.
