NO REHAB FOR RICHIE: Nicole Richie’s rep denies rumors that the “Simple Life” star has entered a rehabilitation facility, reports USMAGAZINE.COM. “She is not in rehab, the rep reportedly tells US. She is at home in Glendale. Sobriety is an ongoing process but she is sober.” Richies rep confirms that the reality star continues to visit her therapist at the center where she was originally treated in a “drug-diversion program,” but she has not been admitted to any facility as reports have alleged. She is reportedly due in court on June 8 for a pretrial hearing regarding last year’s DUI arrest in California.
SHOTGUN WEDDING? : E! ONLINE’s MARC MALKIN reports that actor Jack Black got down on one knee Monday night. He wasn’t renewing his wedding vows with his wife, Tanya Haden, though — he was reportedly helping a man propose to his girlfriend at the premiere of “Knocked Up.” Malkin reports that “Knocked Up” director Judd Apatow addressed the crowd at the premiere, saying that his cousin wanted to propose to his girlfriend, but was too nervous to follow through. Black reportedly stepped in for the man, proposing to her on his behalf. After singing a few bars of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’,” Black reportedly said, “What I am trying to ask you tonight is, Will you marry me?” And the “stunned” woman reportedly said “yes.”
More Celebrity Scoop After the Video!
IN THE DIRECTOR’S CHAIR: 21 year-old R&B singer Ciara tells PEOPLE about a special project she’s working on, that includes directing her first music video. “This is my chance to direct my first video, and it’s such a cool opportunity,” Ciara reportedly says of Glamour magazine’s Reel Music Project. “It’s all about embracing the women in this industry.” Fans can log on to Glamalert.com and listen to music by emerging female singers Tiffany Evans, Paula Campbell and Samantha Jade and then vote on their favorite. Ciara will direct the debut video of the singer with the most votes. PEOPLE reports that Ciara also will be making her film debut in “Mama, I Want to Sing!,” based on the off-Broadway musical. It reportedly starts filming next month.
‘BRUNO’ IS BREWING: ‘Borat’ creator and star Sacha Baron Cohen is reportedly shooting the film debut of another of his characters, the Austrian fashion reporter “Bruno,” for Universal Pictures. DEFAMER claims that shooting is under way in downtown LA, though it’s reportedly shrouded in secrecy due to Cohen’s markedly raised profile post-“Borat.” According to the report, an attendee of the Foreign Trade Association luncheon at the Omni Hotel signed a release form to be interviewed in what was reportedly described as a documentary about “American culture and world trade.” Cohen, reportedly dressed in leather pants, a black vest and a black t-shirt, interviewed attendees of the luncheon, assumedly for the upcoming film. The source ended up not being interviewed himself when all was said and done.
A BUSY, BUSY ‘MITTY’: VARIETY reports that Mike Myers has added another role to his long list of developing projects. Myers is reportedly attached to star in “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty,” a remake of the Danny Kaye comedy classic by 20th Century Fox. Jim Carrey and Owen Wilson were reportedly attached to play the daydreaming character in previous incarnations of an attempted remake when it was with Paramount, but the project is reportedly being re-started from scratch now that it’s with 20th, and is reportedly being tailored for Myers. Among Myers’ other projects in various stages of production are “The Love Guru,” “How to Survive a Robot Uprising,” a bio-pic of drummer Keith Moon, and a rumored fourth installment of the “Austin Powers” franchise.
‘JACKASS’ FOR YOUR JOYSTICK: And finally, THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER announces a new video game being created based on the popular “Jackass” TV show and movies. Fans of the MTV show will reportedly be able to interact with the “Jackass” pranksters in original games for PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable and Nintendo DS beginning Sept. 24. The premise for the game is to have the player create their own ‘Jackass’ episodes across an array of wild stunts, and cast members Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera, Steve-O have lent their likenesses and voices to the game. “We’re excited as all hell about it,” Knoxville reportedly said. “It is kind of odd that people will take on our personas and depressing that they’re going to have to do that. We’ve never really worked on anything like this before. This is our first video game. We just hope that our video game is as crappy as our movies.”
