George Clooney Recycled His Wedding Tuxedo For Golden Globes

We thought we recognized George Clooney’s dapper look from the Golden Globes!

After taking home the Cecil B. DeMille Award at Sunday’s show, George told reporters that his award show preparations paled in comparison to new wife Amal’s.

“Guys have it so much easier. It’s honestly not fair. Amal was looking at dresses last night still trying to figure out what she was going to wear and I was watching the football game,” he said backstage. “[At] two o’clock this afternoon we were still watching the ball game.”

In fact, when it came to getting dressed, the 53-year-old slipped into a look he’s sported before, while Amal was still contemplating her look. (She ended up wearing a stunning black Dior Haute Couture gown to her first Globes.)

“I’m wearing my wedding tux,” he said, referring to the Armani tuxedo he wore at his September nuptials.

George also spoke to reporters about his loving tribute to his wife during his speech, where he said, “Amal, whatever the alchemy is that brought us together I couldn’t be more proud to be your husband.”

“You do think about what you’re going to say to 300 million people to your wife ahead of time. Or you’re really stupid,” he said of his speech. “I’m having an exceptional year and an exceptional time in my life and I’m really in a happy place.”
