Janet Jackson’s New Album Will Debut In The Fall

Janet Jackson – we’ve missed you much!

The pop superstar’s new record (her first in seven years) will be released in the fall, through BMG and her own Rhythm Nation Records.

“Thank you to the talented team at BMG, my new artistic home,” the 49-year-old singer said in a statement released on Wednesday. “The opportunity to be creative in music and every form of entertainment has great potential here.”

The title of the upcoming album has yet to be released.

Janet first revealed she’d be returning to the music scene back in May, when she Tweeted a link to a video announcing an impending album and world tour.

“I promised you’d hear it from my lips, and now you will,” she said in a voiceover in the video, without showing her face. “This year, new music, new world tour, a new movement. I’ve been listening. Let’s keep the conversation going.”

The singer Tweeted the video just hours before her 49th birthday (May 16).

Janet, who married Wissam Al Mana in 2012, hasn’t released a new studio album since 2008’s “Discipline.”
