NBC Picks Up J.J. Abrams Spy Thriller

NBC has won a bidding war for J.J. Abrams’ latest TV venture, The Wrap reported.

According to the site, the producer has re-teamed with “Felicity” scribe Josh Reims on a pilot script for the project, described as a spy thriller about a husband-and-wife team. The deal reportedly includes a penalty for the network if the show does not to go series.

The series is the latest for the busy J.J., who is set to produce a fourth “Mission: Impossible” film and a sequel to this summer’s rebooted “Star Trek,” as well as his continued participation on ABC’s “Lost” and FOX’s “Fringe.”
