Rosie O’Donnell Files For Divorce From Wife Michelle Rounds

Rosie O’Donnell filed for divorce from her wife Michelle Rounds on Friday in New York, according to People.

The former co-host of “The View” cited “an irretrievably broken relationship” as the cause of their divorce, according to the court papers obtained by the magazine’s website. The papers also reportedly state that the couple has a prenuptial agreement.

O’Donnell’s rep confirmed news earlier this month that the star would be departing “The View” and had split from her wife.

“I can confirm that Rosie and her wife Michelle split in November. Rosie has teens and an infant at home that need her attention. This has been a very stressful situation. She is putting her personal health and family first. ABC has been wonderfully understanding and supportive of her personal decision to leave ‘The View.’ Next week will be her last,” her rep previously said in a statement to Access Hollywood.

O’Donnell spoke to Access days later about the state of her relationship with Rounds.

“We’ve been together for a little over three years, and right now we’re not living together,” she told Access. “We’re trying to see what’s the best for everybody. I love her very much.”

O’Donnell and Rounds got married in June 2012 in a secret and private ceremony. The women adopted a daughter, Dakota, 2, together in January 2013. O’Donnell has four additional children with her ex-partner Kelli Carpenter.

Her final appearance on “The View” aired on February 12.
